“What happened to you, Prongs?”

James was covered in blood and pale with it, his mouth screwed up tight with agony.

“It wasn’t Moony? It can’t have been!” Sirius cried, as he and Peter rushed to support their friend. “We were with him all night, it was you who went running off.”

James shook his head mutely. “Went….too far. Stupid….men….fucking guns.”

Sirius stifled a giggle.

“It’s no laughing matter Sirius!” Peter told him. “James is really hurt!”

“I know, I know, Sorry. But…but how are we going to explain to Madam Pomfrey how Prongs got buckshot peppered into his behind?”

Perhaps not, according to the intarwebs, Danny wasn't published until 1975 and I believe that the Marauders entered Howarts at the end of '69 didn't they? *pokes brain*.

But yes, I did get my ideas about buckshot from that book. :)
