Summary: A young man buys a copy of The Wizard's Watchtower
Please note, The Wizard's Watchtower was orignially conceived by me for the fic Vocabulophile (click here to read) a HP fic from last year's challenge.

The Wizard's Watchtower, despite all efforts towards respectability, was
often shelved erroneously on the top shelf in Wizarding newsagents (when
it was stocked at all). Although it often featured an enticing semi-nude
young man on the cover, beckoning to any male wizard who glanced its way,
there was very little in the way of...'raunchy'...material within. To be
seen buying it, however, was in effect political suicide.
There were a few raised eyebrows when the young man with wavy blond hair
and sharp eyes walked up to the counter of Flourish & Botts with the
latest copy, seemingly without shame. The cashier took the man's money
with a face schooled to a mask of stony civility; a group of young
wizards lingering near the comic section were not so restrained.
"You could tell he was one of Them," one sniggered, "Look at the way he
walks!"
"Just look at his clothes! Only a fairy would go 'round like that."

Upon returning to his quarters, Albus Dumbledore conjured a mirror and
studied his glamour.
"Well, I think the robe looks rather debonair myself," he chuckled,
playing with his hair and watching the blond man looking back at him wink
coyly and do the same. If he took his glasses off and let the world blur
it was as if his past was staring back at him, "Gelert.." he muttered
wistfully, before shaking himself and cancelling the glamour charm.

Seating himself in a chair and conjuring a pot of tea he mused further on
his recent encounter, "Strange though, that when I wear my own face, my
apparel is not equated so easily with...well...certain things."

Awesome (I have GOT to stop using that word) - I really like this worldbuilding. And Dumbledore makes an interesting point.

Thanks. And yeah, I was thinking about that because he's got such a penchant for the flambuoyant in the books but somehow only a few slashers thought about him being gay prior to the last book (and even after) and those who did just kind of thought "Well, yeah, but let's face it, we'd slash anyone." ;P
