07:11 pm - Day 6: Flights of Fancy Part 2
This one is a little more like a bunny/synopsis than an actual fic I'm afraid.

Title: Charlie's Pet
Author: Lord Localfreak
Fandom: Harry Potter
Ship: N/A
Summary: Charlie always wanted a pet, but could never decide what animal would suit him

Charlie had always wanted a pet. He hinted every year that he wanted one,
but mum kept giving him brothers instead. Bill sometimes went through
their books on animals with him but Charlie could never decide what he
wanted. He didn't want an owl, they had Erroll if he needed to write a
letter, and owls were sleepy during the day and only awake when bedtime
was near. He wouldn't mind a dog, because they were loyal and loving but
he didn't fancy all the licking and grooming business, and a cat was out
of the question because they chased birds, and Bill didn't like them.
"There," he told his parents one day, poring over a book, "That's the pet
I want."
To Charlie's dismay, Dad started laughing and mum said "But that's a
dragon Charlie! You couldn't possibly have a dragon!" Then, seeing her
son's expression, put a hand on him gently, "Oh love, dragons are wild
animals, they're not pets."

Later, Bill interrupted Charlie's sulk and ruffled his hair, he looked
thoughtfully at the book. "A dragon?"
"Yes." sniffled Charlie, "but Mum and Dad said I can't."
"Well...they are rather big...but that doesn't mean you'll never have
one." Bill added hurriedly. "It's just, well...Dragons are bigger than
this house you see. If you kept a dragon here there'd be no room for the
Brats or Mum and Dad, or me. And there aren't many in this country, you'd
have to go to a dragon preserve, and children aren't allowed in there.
You'll go one day."

Charlie fully intended to have a dragon 'one day', but what he didn't tell
anyone, was that now, he already had one. Rolli was about as big as a
chair, and very agile, he was a beautiful reddish gold, similar to a
Chinese Fireball but with Welsh Green markings. He was a one-of-a-kind
sort of dragon. No one but Charlie could see him and they went everywhere
together.

I'm a Charlie fan (he's my favorite Weasley) and this is darling.

He would probably tell you that little brothers are pretty much like pets *g*

I find pets more obedient than small boys for the most part, although I do notice the similarities ;)

Oh, this is lovely! It's so sweet and so IC! And I love the big-brother relationship with Bill ^^

He hinted every year that he wanted one, but mum kept giving him brothers instead.

Awesome line XD
