So the current topics of Parish Politics (digest version):
. Mr T's funeral and how it was a shocking crime that St Bede's didn't have any ushers and thus the place was filled well beyond what it is legally able to do so
. The hideous new hymn that they had us stick in the books. Frances may like it but it has a distinctively 'christian pop song' ring to it which makes it both difficult to sing and somewhat twee.
. The fact that Punch still hasn't given us any info about what services we are having in Holy Week which is now leading to great consternation all round.
and the current biggest one
. The amalgamation of the collection envelopes, combining the fact that all everyone's money is going into St Bede's bank account (not a bank account for all the churches. No. St Bede's) the new 'centralised' collection envelopes now read accross the top "St Bede, St Raphael & St Pius X. May we become one in Christ. Mum hates it for her own reasons and is going to get her name taken off the tax-deductable list. I hate it because the phrase implies that we are NOT one in Christ at the moment. Which is bollocks. And just...makes no sense. At all. It's what Punch considers a subtle message. Everyone's rather pissed off.

I bet you Fr Peter is up there LAUGHING HIS ARSE OFF at the whole mess. :P
