06:29 pm Yesterday's Stations of the Cross It went mostly well. I was very pleased with the other servers, they did really well- especially in an unfamiliar church and everything. Was not so pleased with the mother, who took the thing into work to re-draft with all my redrafting notes which we'd collaberated over and agreed on all the changes, only to find she'd bloody ignored half of them and re-written things again (and the stupid auto-check had changed 'Simeon' to 'Simon' again. Rar.) Overall it was quite nice and people were very kind and made a point of saying thank you which is always gratifying. What nobody had warned me about was that genuflecting over 14 times and holding it each time for a little over the length of a Jesus Prayer ("Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have mercy on me, a sinner.") led to fucking Agony. TallLad, one of the servers, is disabled and he was worrying about being able to manage and I told him I'd help him out if he got stuck- then it turned out it was nearly me who got stuck. I was hauling myself up by the benches and posing like the effing thinker. Ow!
Lol I was walking like House today, which was very silly. No one warned me about 'Genuflecter's Quads'.
Anyway by the time we got in and made a drink it was too late to go on the comp really so we watched the first of my brand new Jonathan Creek DVDs The Wrestler's Tomb (come to think of it- WHY is it called that? I mean...there's no wrestling in it...it's about a perverted artist.) I'd seen this one more recently than Mum, having watched it last year or so with lycoris but it was still really good ("make me bark like a sealion" ><)even though I remembered whodunnit.
*pats Jonathan's curly moptop*
Today we did mundane things, like limp around St Helen's and I bought some underwear and some got some food in. Not really any veg, because I'd rather go to the local market on Monday for that, but we needed all sorts of heavy things which were easier to get with Mum (and her car!lol)
It feels weird now, with being at churches on Friday (again!) it doesn't feel like tomorrow is Sunday. I expect to be serving as one of the girl's can't come and she was meant to be on with MadamMin- high probability of a no-show. Current Mood: chilly Current Music: To the Moon and Back-Savage Garden
