Well, before that BOMBSHELL reached me today had been a productive, if tiring, day. I went with Nanny to Westbrook ASDA to get the requested picture on the requested birthday cake for the Boy. Then came home and baked for some hours. All afternoon in fact. I made 36 mince pies, 4 Jam Tarts and 6 Lemon Curd Tarts. All the pastry used up, I then tidied away all of That mess and made salmon-pasta for tea followed by half an apple and blackcurrent pie Nanny and I had picked up whilst out and agreed to split between our households.
I'm still stuffed just thinking about it.
At least now (even with a few disasters with the mince pies) I can relax knowing that I don't need to make any more pastry, which was my biggest worry (because WHEN IS THERE TIME IN LIFE?). Tomorrow is Cake-Making. I'm hoping to have the cakes mostly all done in the morning and then lycoris is going to come and help me decorate them because I suck at icing and she has Leet Icing Skills and is also kind and wonderous. *attempts to make hovel presentable, realise this is impossible*
So that shall be fun at least!
