02:31 pm - some questions can't be answered by google. So on Friday I went to stay the night at lycoris' for our Epic Film Night, that we had been planning for some time, as we have a habit of mentioning a film to the other and going 'we must watch that at some point'.
We watched: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, La Cage Aux Folles, The Birdcage, Total Eclipse and Sweeney Todd. We also attempted to watch a recording of a play done by friends of ourse called 'Suckers' but unfortunately we couldn't get the dvd to play properly.
( Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix babble )
The Birdcage was really interesting to watch because I'd seen La Cage Aux Folles already and the Birdcage was done about twenty years later and is a US production. I was very impressed by how close it stayed to the original (Robin Williams' walk was perfect and gestures as well as actual script. Agador was interesting (though I still like Jacob from the original better- he's prittier) and Val was FAR FAR LESS of an arsewipe than Laurent. Albert was particularly lovely because I went 'I know that voice!' he was TIMON in The Lion King! FTW!
( Total Eclipse )
lycoris was a wonderful host and bore my incessant teasing with good humour.
We were talking about her Children's bible, because I have the same one and she said, about the story of Job:
lycoris: It's basically God and the Devil having a pissing contest. It's The Doctor and the Devil having a- Me: .....you just called God 'The Doctor' lycoris: No I didn't......OH GOD YES I DID *flailing* Me: *diez*
Too much Dr Who is bad for your health, but very amusing for your friends ;) *pats lycoris*
We stayed up gabbing till 3am and then went to bed. I got up around half past 7 ish and read one of her sister's Chalet School books till lycoris got up (I've never read Chalet School before, but a lot of 12 days of Christmas people piqued my curiosity) and we watched birds out of her window and such. I think she was a bit disturbed at my being up so early....lol, but she did know to expect it.
I got home and found, rather excitingly, that someone has requested all four comics I put up on swapshop (HUZZAH) so I've packaged them up and I'm sending them out *glee*. Once the other person receives them I should get points and then what do points mean? PRIZES. I will no doubt be torn as to whether to blow some points on Open All Hours DVDs or a Beatrix Potter Book or try save up some more for the many other shiny things that are on the site. lol. Current Mood: cold

10:11 pm - Being Human Finally got to see the much-anticipated (with some fear and dread in truth) the first episode of Being Human.
Baring in mind I haven't given myself remotely any time to digest the experience, here is my manic babbling on the programme
( Spoilers for Being Human )
Conclusion: I do like it. I do. This is good. I am enthused by it and sincerely hope it retains its goodness and sucks me in so then I can actually love it.
