05:31 pm - but patience and elated wisdom don't share a common fate
Playing about on my new office package I noticed this thing for posting to a blog. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get deadjournal to work on it...or connect to it or what have you. I’m not that surprised, after all deadjournal is a relatively small kind of place (and seems to be getting smaller in truth, especially since they started using invite codes. Still haven’t forgiven them for that, though perhaps now they’re on new servers and stuff they’ll get rid of them again. I live in hope.

So today I was mildly less screechy than yesterday, but still felt mostly grumpish. I sent one application off and have another to fill in and our Zog phoned which, even though it was a perfectly nice and pleasant conversation, left me feeling irritable and a bit rubbish. I have forbidden myself to eat crisps for breakfast and so by 11am when I hit my first lull (I had been working at job applying and things since about 8am, in my defence) I had museli. Then spoilt the good start with a couple of biscuits lol. The crisps came later and...tentatively...I think I lessened my intake by about a packet (which is good, but also embarrassing to mention because it gives some indication of just how many packets I can eat particularly when I’m stressed, grumpy or muddled) and went on the wii to get a little exercise bashing things (I lost boxing today on points, but won baseball *shock*)

Robyn sent me an email overnight with links to some of the FUNNIEST THINGS EVER. I sent this one to my Auntie Irene in work, and Mum thought this one was marvellous. Personally I liked the perverse one. Lol.

Most of the news today is “More Jobs To Go” or “High Unemployment Here to Stay” and other depressing things. I find it all quite strange because jobs have been in a decline pretty much since I was a kid, until mum cleared it up for me “now it’s a lot of white-collar jobs in danger” which explains why the news is covered in stories about it and yet when the ICI went to Zeneca and shut down, or when the Golden Wonder Factory went, or when it was announced Mum’s current company has gone bust and the buying company have decided to shut down the factories over here because they can get cheap labour overseas to make the chemicals, it was barely picked up and obviously not considered newsworthy.
There was one thing that brought a smile to my face in the news people at heathrow protesting about the new runway did so in what the guardian called “A Very British Style”. They had a picnic! A HUGE PICNIC with a fiddle band and fairy cakes and party games. There’s some really nice footage on the guardian’s main page about it if anyone fancies a look.
Spag Bog for tea though it wasn’t that great. I tried a different brand of tomato pasta sauce and it didn’t go very far. Next time if they don’t have the brand we like in I’ll buy an extra tin of chopped tomatoes and make it myself, at least then it’s a better chance of being okay!

08:10 pm - Randomly Odd
You know how, with broadband, when you put a CD into windows media player it often reads the CD and comes up with the tracklisting and title all by itself?

And you know, how, sometimes, on obscure or non-pop CDs it sometimes gets it wrong?

Well I just put in my CD: The Best of Gilbert and Sullivan

and Windows Media Player said:

"Ripping: songs by JOHN BARROWMAN"

Me: WTF??

Let us assess the facts cut for <strike>disturbing</strike> image )

I somehow doubt that either party would approve of this mix up. Bad Windows, BAD.
