03:48 pm - of many babblsomes
Today I had my first driving lesson since long before Christmas.

yeah. I am getting somewhat better, I do acknowledge that. I also acknowledge that my nice lady driving instructor has balls of steel when face with me behind the wheel of a car (more brakes! more brakes! Down into second gear! Turn the wheel faster! faster! Don't look at the cars parked in people's drives- look where you're going!). She is a saint. Definitely. Though we shall save further claims until I pass, hopefully within the next millenia.

I also sent off a few begging letters to various places I would like to hire me. I don't know whether they'll just chuck them in the bin but at least I'm trying. If I could only find some niche that wants me in my geekish detail-orientated glory...though considering everywhere seems to be going bust left-right-and-centre at the moment it is all rather depressing. I shall have to get my novel back from lycoris and start redrafting it for sending out to an agent- it might be a long shot but I reckon I've as much a chance at that than anything else I'm sending off at the moment.

*goes to get on with cooking the tea (cheese m&s things, sprouts and bacon)*

Edit as seven hours later I remember what I meant to write about before getting distracted by sprouts:

Oh yeah, I signed up to that Swapshop website and put a few things on it (a couple of X Box games I've never played, a second hand book and a CD that was a random gift in which the giver mis-remembered the name of the band I liked). It looks pretty impressive and legit, and as there's no money involved unless I wanted there to be (buy using paypal, which I'm not going to) then I'm going to give it a whirl and see what happens. I really hope someone wants some of my stuff, particularly as I keep coming accross things I'd like on it (The Uncommon Reader, Midsomer Murders and Blackadder DVDs, 24(?)Charing Cross Road, Letters of Noel Coward etc) and require points (and what do points mean....?) ;)

So if anything comes of it I'll try remember to blog it, as I'm witholding full seal of approval until then :).

And now I'm going to get my sheep hotwaterbottle, get into my owl pyjamas and go to bed. What a menagerie!
